Front page presence
I had my first byline today in the news paper… aside from the very few (one, maybe?) I had during my short stint in sports at the Herald. Nevermind that it was a double byline – the city/cops reporter and I shared the story.
There was a fire out by Crescent Bar – yup, the area my weekly paper serves – that burned more than 1,700 acres. I made some phone calls to people I had connections with near where the fire was and my quote added a personal touch to the story. I didn’t actually do any of the writing, just passed along my quotes and information.
Anyway, the story is here. It was on the front page – not the lead story, but above the fold.
Gracias, senor, gracias!
